Enrolment and Zone
For 2027 enrolment please complete Step 1 of the enrolment process.
Please note: In Zone applications for 2027 should be lodged with us by the end of August 2026.
Out of Zone applications for 2027 closed on Wednesday 2 September 2026 and the ballot was drawn on Wednesday 9 September 2026.
In 2027 there were 30 Out-of-Zone places available for Year 9.
There were no Out-of-Zone places available for Year 10 – Year 13.

Henderson High School participates in the Ministry of Education donations scheme and does not request student donations.

Enrolment Process
Step 1: Enrolment Application

Step 2: Enrolment Interview
All In Zone applicants are invited to attend the next round of enrolment interviews on Thursday 22 October. This is an open session, come anytime between 3pm and 5pm. Interviews will be approximately 20 minutes long, please allow extra time depending on demand.
Out of Zone applicants for 2027 who were successful in the ballot will be sent a link to book their enrolment appointment when their place is confirmed.
Out of Zone Enrolment Information
Out-of-Zone applicants are accepted in this order:
- First priority must be given to any applicant who is accepted for enrolment in a special programme run by the school. (Note that Henderson High School does not have a special programme).
- Second priority must be given to any applicant who is the sibling of a current student of the school.
- Third priority must be given to any student who is the sibling of a former student of the school.
- Fourth priority must be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school.
- Fifth priority must be given to any applicant who is either a child of an employee of the board of the school or a child of a member of the board of the school.
Sixth priority must be given to all other applicants.

Te Hiringa - Academic Enrichment
The Te Hiringa Academic Enrichment Programme supports fast-paced, advanced learning to develop students’ thinking skills and extends their knowledge of their chosen courses of study. The programme facilitates research and information gathering using a variety of methods.
Students collaborate with schools and academic institutes outside of the classroom environment, in order to enrich the learning experience.
Assessment for admission into Te Hiringa takes place in the year prior to entry at Year 9. Please register your interest to join us at our Te Hiringa Experience and Testing Days.
Scholarships
We offer a range of financial scholarships to incoming Year 9 students who excel in their chosen field.
Scholarships for each field offer specific rewards to successful students.
