Our Vision
“We will empower students with the knowledge to succeed and change their world for the better”
Knowledge is the key that unlocks success for our young people, both at school and in their future endeavors. We provide a robust knowledge base that equips them to understand their world and excel in their chosen fields. Our teachers are dedicated to teaching deep content knowledge, ensuring depth of understanding, and striving for academic excellence.
We have embedded research and science-based teaching methods, employing specific routines to support optimal learning and ensure that knowledge is both understood and retained. This creates the best possible conditions for learning—in classrooms, labs, and on the fields.
Our classroom routines are fundamentally linked to our core values: Te Tūāpapa o Panuku (the foundation of Henderson High School). This foundation teaches and celebrates:
Whanaungatanga
We are connected to each other and we each contribute to our community.
Manaakitanga
Kaitiakitanga
Kotahitanga
Henderson High School takes great pride in its vibrant and diverse community. We are focused on being a kura where Te Ao Māori is visible and celebrated, and where other cultures are richly woven into the fabric of our community.
Our extensive co-curricular and extra-curricular offerings reflect this diverse community, providing opportunities for every student. These include, but are not limited to: Robotics, Rocket Club, Kapa Haka, Samoan and Filipino Groups, Rainbow Group, Epro8, Drone Club, Showquest, school production, International Ambassadors, and various sports (football, badminton, orienteering).
