STAGE CHALLENGE:

Stage challenge is an nation wide inter-schools dance competition.  Students from Henderson High have been involved with this for many years now and have done very well in the competition.  As part of Stage Challenge, students are expected to choreograph the dance, design set, design costumes, design lighting and organise funds to get themselves too and from the event.  In 2007, Henderson High School was placed 2nd on their event night winning over 11 awards.  Henderson High returned to defend their title this year with their performance of "Serpent" based on the myth of Medusa.  Over 100 students were invlolved in this day which took months of work and preperation.  In 2008 we won 7 awards for Costuming and Character, Lighting Design, Visual Enhancement, Set Design and Function, School Initive, and Use of Soundtrack.  Helena Terry, a Year 12 student, won a student achivement award for her work desiging and making the Medusa Headdress.  Stage Challenge is a great extra-curricular activity which you don't simply have to dance in.  There are roles backstage and in lighting that are also cruital to the running of the performance.
